The DEC Publications and Products Advisory Committee (PPAC) is recruiting new members. Members will serve a 2-year term with optional, automatically approved 3rd-year renewal. If a member chooses to renew their term after serving their first two years, they need only to notify the sitting committee chair(s). After serving a 2-3 year term, they may reapply for an appointment in an open call for members.
Members representative of the diversity of DEC membership are encouraged to apply, including race, ethnicity, culture, language, dialect, age, ability, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion/spirituality, and national origin. We seek representation of geography, organizations, agencies, universities, and experience. We seek members representing all member categories (practitioners, family members, higher education faculty, etc.). Applicants should be knowledgeable about the DEC Mission and Policies (including the Priority Issues Agenda), and Racial Equity Point of View. Individuals will be required to be current DEC members or to join DEC as members of this committee.
What is the DEC Publications and Products Advisory Committee (PPAC)?
DEC produces products to support evidence-based practices and the optimal development of young children (0-8) with or at risk for developmental delays and disabilities. The DEC PPAC guides product development to meet field needs and DEC's mission, aiming to lead in professional development and service delivery for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with disabilities and their families. The PPAC ensures products thoroughly represent the knowledge and needs of EI/ECSE stakeholders and allied partners including families, stay current, and generate sustainable revenue to support DEC.
This committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Executive Board and the Executive Office. These products are crucial for revenue and promoting DEC.
The DEC PPAC is a volunteer body comprised of DEC members in good standing. You do not need to be a DEC member before applying to the PPAC. PPAC members are not considered members of the DEC Executive Board.
