The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program empowers families with the tools and resources they need to thrive. This program builds upon decades of scientific research showing that home visits by a nurse, social worker, early interventionist, early childhood educator, or other trained professional during pregnancy and early childhood improve the lives of children and families. Home visiting improves health, academic achievement, and economic self-sufficiency for families - among other notable outcomes.
In 100 days, this evidence-based home visiting program that helps children and families will expire. We call on Congress to reauthorize and expand MIECHV before it’s too late.
