The Reflective Action Planning Tool focuses on the components outlined in 7 of the 8 standards: (1) Child Development and Learning, (2) Partnering with Families, (3) Collaboration and Teaming, (4) Assessment Processes, (5) Application of Curriculum Frameworks in the Planning of Meaningful Learning Experience, (6) Using Responsive and Reciprocal Interactions, Interventions, and Instruction, and (7) Professional and Ethical Practice.

This tool supports 1) reflection on current knowledge and use of the EI/ECSE standards and components, 2) identification of areas of strength and opportunities for growth, and 3) development of actionable plans for continuous improvement over time. While not designed for formal evaluation (e.g., employment, pay, or grade decisions), the tool can also enhance reflective supervision conversations.
