Take Action During the August Recess: Advocate for Federal Funding Today!

It’s August Recess for your U.S. Senators and your House Representative which means they're home and in the neighborhood! Please take a few minutes and remind them how important it is to fund early intervention and special education services in the federal funding bill for 2024. Once they come back to Washington, DC, in a few weeks, this will be their top priority!

You can share your stories of how early intervention, special education, and other early childhood funding meets the needs of young children with disabilities and their families by:

  • Stopping by your U.S. Senators' or House Representatives' local office to meet with staff;

  • Attending a local event and meeting them face-to-face; and

  • Inviting them to a gathering with other advocates for early intervention, special education and early childhood services.

When you meet with your U.S. Senators and Representatives, share your stories with #DECAdvocacy and be sure to tag DEC on social media!

One More Important Step. . . Take Action Now by going to the CEC website and sending a letter to your U.S. Senators and House Representatives. It's a quick and easy way to make an impact! The letters are already prepared and you can send them directly to your Senators/Representatives by entering your zip code. You can even personalize the letter before hitting send. There are currently three letters available:
