New YEC Editor - Dr. Angel Fettig

Dr. Angel Fettig is an Associate Professor in special education at the University of Washington. Her scholarship broadly focuses on supporting the social-emotional

development for young children with or at risk for disabilities. Much of her work promotes family-centered practices both in Part C services as well as inclusive preschool settings.

A Message From Dr. Fettig

I am honored and excited to step into this role. Young Exceptional Children is our field’s leading practitioner journal and a critical platform to bridge the research to practice gap. It’s a privilege to be in a position to ensure that we continue to bridge this gap and promote strategies that are informed by the most up-to-date research and addressing the needs of the most marginalized population we serve. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with families, practitioners, researchers, and editors of our field’s leading research journals to make his happen.
