Funding Early Childhood is the Right IDEA Act Re-Introduced

DEC is pleased to share that Representatives Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA) and Jared Huffman (D-CA) have re-introduced the Funding Early Childhood is the Right IDEA Act. The bill is H.R. 5141. The bill quickly picked up support from six other House members. The bill can be accessed here.

Our important work begins now to get many more House co-sponsors on the bill. The bill would include a glide path of increasing authorization levels for Part C and for Preschool Special Education. There are over 45 partner organizations supporting this bill.

DEC is working with other partners to have the bill reintroduced in the U.S. Senate. We will update you when it has dropped there too.
