Call for Participants: Part C Early Intervention Provider Participants Needed for a Development Study

Are you a Part C early intervention provider who wants to learn more about working with parents with

intellectual disabilities? You may be eligible to participate in a professional development study.


Purpose of the Study

  • Develop and examine participant perceptions of a professional development program designed to support early intervention providers in coaching parental caregivers with intellectual disabilities

  • Participants will engage in collaborative learning focused on future strategy use in early intervention settings


Who Can Participate?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are a Part C early intervention provider (i.e., early intervention educator/special instructor/developmental specialist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, or physical therapist)

  • Are willing to participate in online professional development sessions outside of work hours and complete brief assignments between sessions


What Does Participation Involve?

  • Four 90-minute online professional development sessions held weekly outside of work hours

  • Completion of pre/post measures prior to/following the professional development program

  • Total duration: 1.5 months


Benefits of Participation

  • Learn strategies for coaching caregivers with intellectual disabilities to use in the future

  • Collaborate with other early intervention providers

  • Contribute to research in early intervention practice


Stipend

  • A $125 stipend provided for completing the research study

  • The stipend will be prorated for partial completion


When?

  • Study enrollment begins Friday, August 21

  • Sessions begin the week of September 14
