#Renew MIECHV National Day of Action - Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Join DEC and other members of the Home Visiting Coalition in calling, emailing, and tweeting your Senators and Congressman to urge them to preserve and expand the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV).

It’s been more than 100 days since Congress let the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program expire. We need your help to make sure renewing MIECHV is included in the next package of legislation to keep the government open.

MIECHV, an evidence-based and voluntary parent coaching support for families and children expired on September 30, 2017. Home visiting helps parents learn skills and gain support to be the best parents they can be. Proven outcomes of MIECHV include improvements in prenatal care and birth weight; early childhood health and development; school readiness; and economic stability; while reducing child abuse, neglect, and injuries; juvenile delinquency and crime; and dependence on public assistance.
