Issue 42:3— Innovations in Parent-Implemented Interventions in EI/ECSE Research
Family-centered practices have a direct impact on young children’s behavioral, social, and academic development and are central to many EI/ECSE services and intervention approaches. Family-centered practices should guide parent and caregiver implemented interventions. Research on parent-implemented interventions often lack strong methodological rigor and diverse populations, which limits recommendations for practice. The purpose of this topical issue is to advance and highlight innovations in caregiver and parent-implemented interventions in EI/ECSE research.
We are specifically interested in manuscripts that address and examine: (1) effective components of parent-implemented interventions, (2) parent-implemented interventions that consider the strengths and the needs of minoritized families, and (3) innovations and conceptualizations around parent-implemented interventions. We welcome the submission of manuscripts that include descriptions of empirical research, systematic reviews of the research literature, and conceptual discussions of parent-implemented interventions. Please email Erin E. Barton (Editor) at erin.e.barton@vanderbilt.edu or Angel Fettig (Guest Editor) afettig@uw.edu with any questions.
