The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) invites practitioners, researchers, faculty, family members, and community partners to express interest in facilitating professional development opportunities in 2026. DEC is currently recruiting volunteers who are interested in sharing their wisdom, lived experience, and expertise with the early childhood special education and early intervention community.
Facilitator opportunities include pre-conference workshops and hot topic sessions at the DEC Annual Conference, taking place Monday, October 26th through Thursday, October 29th, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska, as well as virtual professional development events offered throughout the year. These learning opportunities are designed to elevate evidence-based practices, amplify diverse perspectives, and support professionals and families working with young children with disabilities and developmental delays.
Completion of the facilitator interest form allows DEC to learn more about areas of expertise, professional interests, and availability for upcoming programming. Individuals from a wide range of roles, disciplines, and lived experiences are encouraged to apply. Please submit DEC2026 specific workshops/hot-topic sessions by Thursday, March 5th, 2026, 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
