Message from the WDEC President:
President’s Message: 3/3/21
Hello! Welcome to the DEC statewide subdivision- Wisconsin Division for Early Childhood (WDEC)! Our statewide work is a branch of the national DEC. We promote the work of DEC locally in Wisconsin, such as promoting policies and advancing evidence-based practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of young children (0-8) who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities. We are always looking for additional members for our board and subcommittees. Please email me if you are interested in joining our group and/or if you have a question. Our work is better when done together and we are doing great things in Wisconsin!
Yours in Partnership,
WDEC Above and Beyond Awards!
The Wisconsin Division for Early Childhood (WDEC), a subdivision of the national Division for Early Childhood (DEC), honors individuals and teams who are making a difference in the lives of young children and their families through our “Above and Beyond Awards”. We are pleased to honor those who have dedicated their lives to improving outcomes for young children with disabilities and their families; especially during this Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2021 Awards will take place virtually at the Promoting Early Childhood Conference in April, 2021. Nominees do not need to be current members of the WDEC but should meet the criteria of the descriptions below. Nominations are judged by members of the WDEC Board based on category criteria and as aligned with DEC Recommended Practices. Award winners will be notified at the end of March. In addition to public recognition, award winners will receive a professional membership to DEC and a registration to the PEC conference. Take 5 minutes to nominate that person or team for an WDEC Above and Beyond Award with this easy online nomination form. Additional details are attached; please spread the word. Nominations accepted through March 8th, 2021. Award winners will be celebrated at this year's Promoting Early Childhood (PEC) conference. Thanks!
