DEC's Position Statement on Child Maltreatment - Taking a Stand!

Between September 2015 and now, the DEC Position Statement on Child Maltreatment has been drafted 12 times by the development team and 344 people provided additional comments/feedback during the community feedback period. Overall, the feedback was positive and constructive – many participants praising DEC for taking a stance on this topic. In September 2016, the DEC Executive Board officially accepted the position statement. The DEC Position Statement was presented to the membership at the 2016 DEC Conference. The development team is currently working with early childhood partners who have asked to endorse DEC's Position Statement. The position statement has come a long way and we believe it will make a valuable contribution to the DEC community and beyond
