Revised Priority Issues Agenda

The DEC Priority Issues Agenda was revised by the DEC Board in 2020. The DEC Priority Issues Agenda is a statement by the DEC Executive Board intended to guide the strategic direction of the organization. The commitment to the DEC Priority Issues Agenda, the DEC mission, and the DEC Ends must permeate the work of DEC. The Executive Office, charged by the Executive Board, assures the work, based on the DEC Priority Issues Agenda, the DEC mission, and the DEC Ends is accomplished through DEC's most significant resource, its volunteer workforce. Knowledge and Skills for Service Coordinators (KSSC)

Thanks to the more than 1000 service coordination stakeholders from 42 states who responded to the DRAFT Recommended Knowledge and Skills for Service Coordinators Nationwide Survey that was distributed by the National Service Coordination Training Workgroup and DEC’s Call for Input in April 2020. Overall, stakeholders were in strong agreement with the knowledge and skills and 89% of respondents found them to be comprehensive and complete. Congress is back in session until early October! Take a look at DEC's Priority Issues Agenda and let your representatives know what matters most to you. Also, consider the Legislative Recommendations from the Council for Exceptional Children's Special Education Legislative Summit 2020.
