The Chair of the Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) Personnel Preparation Task Force, Eva Horn, hosted a webinar on January 28th to unveil the current draft of the first-ever EI/ECSE Personnel Preparation Standards. For over 25 years, CEC/DEC has had Initial and Advanced Knowledge and Skill Specialty Sets (i.e. knowledge and skills statements) that were used by educator preparation programs for curriculum development and to inform program review. The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children submitted the following comments in response to the November 6, 2018 notice in the Federal Register regarding public comment on required IDEA data collections. The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children is recruiting a new editor for the Journal of Early Intervention (JEI). The new editor will begin a 5-year term on July 1, 2019. Journal of Early Intervention offers articles related to research and practice in early intervention for infants and young children with special needs and their families.
